Michel Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Alfredo da Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Resende F.C's Arlindo Cavalcante got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Resende F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Lara came free, but César Rezende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. César Rezende came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Ponte Preta TS's Ricardinho Falcão. But to his dismay, Ricardinho Falcão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 25th minute Roberto Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but César Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ricardinho Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roberto Lara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but César Rezende read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. When Roberto Lara came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Ponte Preta TS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roberto Lara couldn't finish the play. Arlindo Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo da Fonseca having to interfere. Guga Borges's late challenge caught a Resende F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guga Borges helped the player get up and apologised. Michel Fonseca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Alfredo da Fonseca made a huge save. Ponte Preta TS's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Arlindo Cavalcante 40 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Michel Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Alfredo da Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardinho Falcão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. César Rezende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th match minute, Resende F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio Netto to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Resende F.C's Caio Netto got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute Arlindo Cavalcante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo da Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute, Edvaldo Botelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juninho Siqueira's late challenge caught a Resende F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Alfredo da Fonseca had in the 103rdth minute some difficulties stopping João Carlos de Lara's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. João Carlos de Lara took the ball and in the 103 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfredo da Fonseca. Alfredo da Fonseca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Resende F.C were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Ponte Preta TS for a fine match.
