With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vitinho Veiga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Costinha's Vitinho Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilson Fantini in the 10th minute of play. The supporters of Caravellas SS booed when Costinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilson Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nilson Fantini to make the kick off. The corner led to Caravellas SS's Wilson Dante getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Costinha fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! Costinha:s Vitinho Veiga showed great skill when he stopped Durval Corrêa:s penalty. Enio de Lima hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Diego Vergílio struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Diego Vergílio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
