Vitinho Veiga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Emerson de Brito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Vitinho Veiga made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Costinha's Felippe Barral got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 23rd minute, Edgar Zonta made a precise shot to the right of Vitinho Veiga. Costinha's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. After a rather tough play, Vila Pindense's Alberto Velloso got a free kick in the 26th minute. Gilson Araújo's late challenge caught a Vila Pindense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilson Araújo helped the player get up and apologised. Vitinho Veiga was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Edgar Zonta showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 31 minute of play. Cléber Linhares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Costinha's Vitinho Veiga got control of the ball when Edgar Zonta tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Luiz Fábio Paraibano fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costinha's protests and gave Luiz Fábio Paraibano a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Costinha getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Luiz Fábio Paraibano hit a great ball. Vitinho Veiga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emerson de Brito in the 46th minute. Edgar Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitinho Veiga having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The referee ignored Vila Pindense's protests and gave Sílvio dos Santos a yellow card for diving instead. After 90 played minutes Vila Pindense got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio dos Santos. Vitinho Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emerson de Brito in the 93rd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Vila Pindense's goalkeeper Cléber Linhares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Diogo Mesquita. Vila Pindense's Cléber Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Rossi in the 100th minute of play. Vila Pindense's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
