Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emerson de Brito in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck César Rezende prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Júnior Mangueira kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Antônio Carlos de Lima's late challenge caught a Vila Pindense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antônio Carlos de Lima helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Resende F.C's Antônio Carlos de Lima got a free kick in the 13th minute. Resende F.C's César Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Zonta in the 14th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Michel Fonseca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Cléber Linhares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vila Pindense's Edgar Zonta got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Arlindo Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Resende F.C's César Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Zonta in the 31st minute of play. Vila Pindense's Kléberson Terra suffered a concussion in the 34th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 34 minutes of play Resende F.C's Antônio Carlos de Lima was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Vila Pindense's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anderson Rosado in the 37th minute. Mazinho Cabral was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Zonta in the 41st minute of play forced Resende F.C's goalkeeper César Rezende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Edgar Zonta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vila Pindense's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Zonta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. César Rezende breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The wind increased when Edgar Zonta made the kick off in the second half. Resende F.C's César Rezende proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Resende F.C from getting a goal against them. Michel Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 66 minutes in the game, Edgar Zonta fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without César Rezende having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sílvio dos Santos during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sílvio dos Santos hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute, Michel Fonseca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Víktor de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michel Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléber Linhares having to interfere. Alberto Velloso kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Cléber Linhares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arlindo Cavalcante, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. If Michel Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Alberto Velloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. César Rezende made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Edgar Zonta sent off a good shot on target.
