The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Basílio Saraiva came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ponte Preta TS's Ricardinho Falcão. But to his dismay, Ricardinho Falcão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After a rather tough play, VORTHIMAN FC's Edvaldo Matos got a free kick in the 10th minute. Ricardinho Falcão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Basílio Saraiva made a huge save. After having played for 20 minutes, Roberto Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponte Preta TS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roberto Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roberto Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Basílio Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. VORTHIMAN FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Roberto Lara scored to the left of an out of position Basílio Saraiva, making the score, 2-0. A collision led to VORTHIMAN FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Wellington Salgado hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Ricardinho Falcão took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Basílio Saraiva to make any attempt to save it. In the 39th minute Roberto Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basílio Saraiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Ronaldo Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot. VORTHIMAN FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Leite was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo da Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roberto Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roberto Lara to make the kick off. Ponte Preta TS's Ricardinho Falcão got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 57 minutes into the match, Ponte Preta TS's goalkeeper Alfredo da Fonseca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kauã Rosado. The supporters of Ponte Preta TS booed when VORTHIMAN FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Kauã Rosado fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 66 minutes into the match, VORTHIMAN FC's Kauã Rosado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfredo da Fonseca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Clemente de Amorim hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Alfredo da Fonseca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kauã Rosado in the 68th minute. After a rather tough play, Ponte Preta TS's Edvaldo Botelho got a free kick in the 70th minute. Ronaldo Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Alfredo da Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Anísio Arruda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to VORTHIMAN FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Wellington Salgado hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Ponte Preta TS's Emílio Senna tried to score from far away in the 81st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Edvaldo Botelho kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Alfredo da Fonseca made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Kauã Rosado sent off a good shot on target. Basílio Saraiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edvaldo Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. A hard shot 93 in the game by Kauã Rosado from a close distance when the talented Alfredo da Fonseca managed to make a qualified save. Ponte Preta TS's players were relieved. Ponte Preta TS's Alfredo da Fonseca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Ponte Preta TS from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ponte Preta TS had won after a very even match.
