An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Fonseca in the 4th minute of play forced VORTHIMAN FC's goalkeeper Basílio Saraiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Wellington Salgado fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VORTHIMAN FC's protests and gave Wellington Salgado a yellow card for diving instead. Wellington Salgado kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Resende F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arlindo Cavalcante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Carlos Lucas's late challenge caught a VORTHIMAN FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Carlos Lucas helped the player get up and apologised. 15 minutes into the game, one of Resende F.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 17 minutes, VORTHIMAN FC's Edvaldo Matos got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of César Rezende. César Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldo Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute Jardel da Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but César Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kauã Rosado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. César Rezende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kauã Rosado struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. César Rezende didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VORTHIMAN FC. In the 38th minute, Ronaldo Leite fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 42nd minute of the match, Ronaldo Leite tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but César Rezende saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 45 minutes into the match, VORTHIMAN FC's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Fonseca came free, but Basílio Saraiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. VORTHIMAN FC's Ronaldo Leite got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 47 played minutes Resende F.C got a freekick which was hit by Dagoberto Borges.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arlindo Cavalcante to strike the kick off in the second half. If Arlindo Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michel Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Basílio Saraiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Resende F.C. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michel Fonseca got free with Basílio Saraiva in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 72nd minute, VORTHIMAN FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Arlindo Cavalcante fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldo Leite in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck César Rezende prevented the ball from getting in the gole. César Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kauã Rosado in the 78th minute of play. Kauã Rosado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 83 minutes, Michel Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Resende F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michel Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Michel Fonseca might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basílio Saraiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michel Fonseca ran back to his position shaking his head. VORTHIMAN FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Resende F.C for a fine match.
