In the 32ndth minute of the game Arlindo Cavalcante who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ponte Preta TS's Alfredo da Fonseca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Michel Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfredo da Fonseca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Ponte Preta TS's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Fonseca came free, but Alfredo da Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. César Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Lara in the 36th minute of the match. Roberto Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Rezende having to interfere. Alfredo da Fonseca made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Michel Fonseca sent off a good shot on target. Michel Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Alfredo da Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredo da Fonseca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arlindo Cavalcante's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Arlindo Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michel Fonseca succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 71st playminute. After 74 minutes of play, Resende F.C's Michel Fonseca made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredo da Fonseca was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Caio Netto fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Resende F.C's protests and gave Caio Netto a yellow card for diving instead. The Resende F.C supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Resende F.C would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
