The supporters of Paulas booed when OTERRIVEL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ediberto Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hugo Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natanael Rosado having to interfere. Natanael Rosado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Tande in the 29th minute of the match. Paulas's Natanael Rosado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Tande in the 31st minute of play. Hugo Tande hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, OTERRIVEL's João Carlos Alvarenga dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Maciel in the 41st minute of play forced OTERRIVEL's goalkeeper Marcelo Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Paulas's Zé Carlos Saraiva in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye OTERRIVEL's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hugo Tande stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Róbson Antunes took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Natanael Rosado. Natanael Rosado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. João Carlos Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Carlos Saraiva took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelo Borges. Marcelo Borges dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 76th minute of the match, Dagoberto Maciel tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcelo Borges saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Hugo Tande received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Natanael Rosado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Paulas's Valdir Brito got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute, Adilson Vidal sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Paulas's Natanael Rosado didn't even have to move. Zé Carlos Saraiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Marcelo Borges made a huge save. Chiquinho das Neves took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcelo Borges. OTERRIVEL's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Paulas eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
