The penalty shot was made by Ramón Vieira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Capia FC's Sílvio Luís Mota. 2-0. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cruz das Almas FC's goalkeeper Cesinha Berger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roberto Pontes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Sílvio Luís Mota when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With an all-out effort, Cruz das Almas FC's Sílvio Luís Mota threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Délio Amorim, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Délio Amorim to make the kick off. Cruz das Almas FC's Délio Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 94 played minutes Capia FC got a freekick which was hit by Oséas Sá. Cruz das Almas FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
