Cesinha Berger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horácio Matorin in the 5th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Cruz das Almas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Horácio Matorin came free, but Cesinha Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th match minute, Cruz das Almas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dênis Bastos to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Cruz das Almas FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Umberto Neto hit a great ball. Edu Dracena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Teixeira in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cruz das Almas FC's goalkeeper Cesinha Berger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roberto Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 28 minutes into the match, Luís Teixeira notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Black Rovers FC's Edu Dracena. Edu Dracena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luís Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu Dracena having to interfere. The supporters of Cruz das Almas FC booed when Black Rovers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horácio Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute, Roberto Pontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luís Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu Dracena having to interfere. The Black Rovers FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cruz das Almas FC were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Horácio Matorin made a kick off. When Luís Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Cruz das Almas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Teixeira couldn't finish the play. Luís Teixeira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Edu Dracena when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luís Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu Dracena having to interfere. Matheus Prestes's late challenge caught a Cruz das Almas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matheus Prestes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Black Rovers FC's Matheus Prestes got a free kick in the 60th minute. Luís Teixeira scored 0-2 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edu Dracena, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Cruz das Almas FC's zone, Luiz Paulo Ramos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cesinha Berger came out of the goal and Luiz Paulo Ramos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Luís Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horácio Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 77 minutes, Elói Romero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Black Rovers FC and the Cruz das Almas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Elói Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Horácio Matorin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cruz das Almas FC's Roberto Pontes got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Black Rovers FC's zone, Roberto Pontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edu Dracena came out of the goal and Roberto Pontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roberto Pontes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edu Dracena having to make a save. Roberto Pontes struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Edu Dracena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cruz das Almas FC. Cruz das Almas FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
