The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Marcus Melo fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube Atlético Piracicaba's protests and gave Marcus Melo a yellow card for diving instead. The throw-in from Duda Fernandez in the 14th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Clube Atlético Piracicaba's Hílton Ferreira. In the 18thth minute of the game Fernandinho Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Black Rovers FC's Edu Dracena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Paulo Ramos got free with Carlos Augusto Lopez in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fernandinho Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A sloppy throw-in by Duda Fernandez in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Clube Atlético Piracicaba's Marcus Melo. Gino Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu Dracena having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Fernandinho Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edu Dracena was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Tales Sarmento might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edu Dracena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tales Sarmento ran back to his position shaking his head. Edu Dracena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcus Melo went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Luiz Paulo Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Carlos Augusto Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Black Rovers FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Clube Atlético Piracicaba were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernandinho Montenegro was the one to do the kick off. Elói Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Edu Dracena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tales Sarmento went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After 58 minutes, Fernandinho Montenegro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube Atlético Piracicaba and the Black Rovers FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Fernandinho Montenegro took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Edu Dracena to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandinho Montenegro in the 65th minute of play forced Black Rovers FC's goalkeeper Edu Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Matheus Prestes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Fernandinho Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Atlético Piracicaba's zone, Horácio Matorin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Augusto Lopez came out of the goal and Horácio Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 75 in the game by Fernandinho Montenegro from a close distance when the talented Edu Dracena managed to make a qualified save. Black Rovers FC's players were relieved. Tales Sarmento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Edu Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Black Rovers FC's goalkeeper Edu Dracena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernandinho Montenegro. Afonsinho Tavares was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 88th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Clube Atlético Piracicaba's Tales Sarmento got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Fernandinho Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tales Sarmento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
