When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 1-0 when João Paulo Correia sped through SaoPauloFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wanderson Freire. In the 17th match minute, SaoPauloFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caco Prestes to maneuver through the defense. The Giqui fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Giqui's João Paulo Correia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Juninho Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giuseppe Prata, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Giqui's Juninho Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Lalu in the 29th minute of play. João Paulo Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilson Lalu kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After 36 played minutes Giqui got a freekick which was hit by Giuseppe Pimenta. João Paulo Correia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Wanderson Freire made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Afonsinho Cosme was the one to do the kick off. Albertinho Damião recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wanderson Freire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Paulo Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Paulo Correia in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wanderson Freire saved SaoPauloFC from getting behind. 66 minutes into the match, João Paulo Correia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wanderson Freire. SaoPauloFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Paulo Correia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Ronaldo Gaspar might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wanderson Freire. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronaldo Gaspar ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Giqui getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. João Paulo Correia hit a great ball. Juninho Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giuseppe Prata in the 83rd minute of the match. Wanderson Freire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Paulo Correia in the 84th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as SaoPauloFC's Wilson Lalu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Juninho Salles. That made the score 3-1 after 90 minutes of play. Wanderson Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Paulo Correia in the 95th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Giqui were the better team. Giqui's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
