Geraldo Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Baiano having to interfere. In the 4th match minute, Delwius F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Zeca Coelho in the 5th minute really tested Falcão Baiano's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruninho Mello in the 12th minute of play forced Sorocaba's goalkeeper Délio Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Delwius F.C. getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Richard Maranhense hit a great ball. Luís Guilherme Furlan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dorival Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Délio Almeida having to interfere. If Bruninho Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute of the match Arí Galvão shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Délio Almeida showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Délio Almeida didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dorival Vale went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 37th minute, Bruninho Mello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 39 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sorocaba! Luís Guilherme Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Falcão Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 played minutes Sorocaba got a freekick which was hit by Róbson Vale. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Geraldo Capixaba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Falcão Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Falcão Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Guilherme Furlan in the 60th minute of play. Delwius F.C.'s Bruninho Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Delwius F.C.'s Falcão Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Capixaba in the 67th minute of play. Falcão Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geraldo Capixaba, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Bruninho Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Delwius F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Bruninho Mello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Délio Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 80 minutes into the match, Delwius F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luís Guilherme Furlan came free, but Falcão Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sorocaba's Geraldo Capixaba got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dorival Vale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Délio Almeida read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play.
