A collision led to Sorocaba getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Paulo José Senna hit a great ball. In the 21stth minute of the game João Paulo Correia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sorocaba's Délio Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Délio Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Paulo Correia in the 38th minute of play forced Sorocaba's goalkeeper Délio Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giqui played a much better game than Sorocaba and deserved their victory. The Sorocaba players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
