In the 8th match minute, Ibertioga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson Munhoz to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute, Ronaldo Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Faustão Moraes in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juninho Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kléberson Munhoz during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 14th match minute, Ibertioga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson Munhoz to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Ibertioga's Luís Fernando Correia got control of the ball when João Paulo Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, João Paulo Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Giqui's supporters rose to their feet, but João Paulo Correia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Augusto Koehler couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Faustão Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ibertioga's supporters rose to their feet, but Faustão Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juninho Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Giqui fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! In the 39th minute there was a penalty for Ibertioga. Josué Schmidt stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Juninho Salles. 0-1. The throw-in from Ademar Barral in the 42nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Ibertioga's Laerte Alves.

After some careless play in the Ibertioga defense, João Paulo Correia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Fernando Correia. The Ibertioga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Fernando Correia should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, João Paulo Correia put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Luís Fernando Correia. Luís Fernando Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Paulo Correia in the 72nd minute of play. A collision led to Giqui getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Ademar Barral hit a great ball. João Paulo Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Giqui's zone, Faustão Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho Salles came out of the goal and Faustão Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Fernando Correia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Paulo Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Paulo Correia in the 91st minute of play forced Ibertioga's goalkeeper Luís Fernando Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Faustão Moraes's late challenge caught a Giqui's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Faustão Moraes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Ibertioga's Faustão Moraes got a free kick in the 92nd minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Giqui had played much better football throughout.
