He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Ernesto Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráuzio Prestes in the 11th minute of play. A collision led to Yellow Jegue getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Carlos Fernando Esteves hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adriano Zanette in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernardinho Duarte saved Yellow Jegue from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Montenegro SS's Frederico da Mata got a free kick in the 18th minute. Dráuzio Prestes might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernesto Cavalcante. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dráuzio Prestes ran back to his position shaking his head. After 22 played minutes Yellow Jegue got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luís Cabral. In the 27th minute, Pedro Luiz Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the game, Dráuzio Prestes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ernesto Cavalcante. Dráuzio Prestes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Yellow Jegue's Dráuzio Prestes got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Wesley Alves made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Cristian Toscano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ernesto Cavalcante was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ernesto Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráuzio Prestes, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. The supporters of Montenegro SS booed when Yellow Jegue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio Luís Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 69 minutes, Frederico da Mata mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montenegro SS and the Yellow Jegue players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Alfredo Maciel fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yellow Jegue's protests and gave Alfredo Maciel a yellow card for diving instead. After 89 played minutes Yellow Jegue got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Maciel. Yellow Jegue's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
