Ingaseiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Benê Carneiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernesto Cavalcante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 7 minutes, Benê Carneiro made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Montenegro SS's Ernesto Cavalcante tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Vicente Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Alves in the 11th minute of the match. A collision led to Montenegro SS getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Válbson Macedo hit a great ball. After 15 minutes Montenegro SS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Delfim Passos who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Ingaseiro's corner Delfim Passos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ernesto Cavalcante quite easily take care of the ball. Laércio Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Montenegro SS's Ernesto Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benê Carneiro in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of Montenegro SS booed when Ingaseiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aírton Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Alves in the 30th minute of play forced Ingaseiro's goalkeeper Vicente Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th match minute, Ingaseiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Márcio Toscano to maneuver through the defense. Laércio Veloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernesto Cavalcante. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laércio Veloso ran back to his position shaking his head. When Laércio Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Ingaseiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laércio Veloso couldn't finish the play. Benê Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Laércio Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Ingaseiro were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benê Carneiro to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benê Carneiro in the 53rd minute of play forced Montenegro SS's goalkeeper Ernesto Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wesley Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Montenegro SS's Ernesto Cavalcante got control of the ball when Laércio Veloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benê Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Ingaseiro getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Zeca Paes hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the game, Montenegro SS's Adriano Zanette nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vicente Abreu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The referee gave Ingaseiro a penalty, 77 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Delfim Passos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Montenegro SS's Ernesto Cavalcante. 1-3. Wesley Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Vicente Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicente Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Zanette, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Delfim Passos's late challenge caught a Montenegro SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delfim Passos helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 85th minute of the game. One of Ingaseiro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Montenegro SS:s goal. Wesley Alves might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vicente Abreu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wesley Alves ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 97thth minute of the game Benê Carneiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montenegro SS's Ernesto Cavalcante was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 99th minute the ball was on its way in behind Montenegro SS's goalkeeper Ernesto Cavalcante, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match was over Ingaseiro could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Montenegro SS throughout the match.
