Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Basílio Matorin took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd match minute, Gororos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito de Souza to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Basílio Matorin in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Richard Vargas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Luís Gustavo Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute, Jonas Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Rui Coelho from long distance, 9 minutes into the match, got Álvaro Oliveira's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Zé Carlos Macedo fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Euniverso's protests and gave Zé Carlos Macedo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Euniverso getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Zé Carlos Macedo hit a great ball. In the 11th minute, Rui Coelho sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Euniverso's Álvaro Oliveira didn't even have to move. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gororos's goalkeeper Richard Vargas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luís Gustavo Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Vargas having to interfere. Luís Gustavo Gaúcho charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Gustavo Gaúcho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 22 played minutes Euniverso got a freekick which was hit by Luís Gustavo Gaúcho. After having played for 24 minutes, Betinho de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gororos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betinho de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christian Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Oliveira having to interfere. When Benedito de Souza came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Gororos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benedito de Souza couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Euniverso's Álvaro Oliveira got control of the ball when Betinho de Sena tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Christian Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Carlos Macedo got his second yellow card in the match during the 38th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Betinho de Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Oliveira having to interfere. Basílio Matorin kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Euniverso's goalie and right to Ivo Saldanha. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Euniverso's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When Gororos's Christian Xavier in 48 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Álvaro Oliveira guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

A collision led to Euniverso getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Jonas Macedo hit a great ball. In the 57th minute, Christian Xavier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 58 minutes, Luís Gustavo Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Euniverso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Gustavo Gaúcho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Euniverso's zone, Betinho de Sena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Álvaro Oliveira came out of the goal and Betinho de Sena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Álvaro Oliveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Xavier in the 71st minute of the match. 73 minutes into the game, Betinho de Sena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Álvaro Oliveira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Gororos booed when Euniverso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Trancoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute of the match Rui Coelho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Álvaro Oliveira skillfully saved the ball. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Euniverso's goalkeeper Álvaro Oliveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Christian Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luís Gustavo Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Gustavo Gaúcho struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Richard Vargas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Euniverso. Basílio Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 98 minutes into the game, Rui Coelho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gororos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Euniverso the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 97th minute of the game. One of Gororos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Euniverso:s goal. The referee gave Euniverso a penalty, 100 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Aírton Araújo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gororos's Richard Vargas. 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
