In the 40th minute, Diversus F.C.'s Vitório Varela ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Elano Faria. Elano Faria yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Soledale SEC's Elano Faria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Soledale SEC from getting a goal against them. Alfredinho de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Denílson Lopez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Antônio Carlos Carvalho hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The referee ignored Diversus F.C.'s protests and gave Alfredinho de Barros a yellow card for diving instead.
