Spectators: 7171 (Terracing: 5380, Seating: 1649, VIP seats: 142) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Wellington Negri started the match with the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Carlos Ribeiro got free with Hamílton Palmeira in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hamílton Palmeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelsinho Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 12th minute of the match, Zé Carlos Ribeiro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hamílton Palmeira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Fábio Prata got free with Hamílton Palmeira in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nelsinho Alvarenga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Arapoti booed when Felicina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wellington Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hamílton Palmeira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Fábio Prata went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 31st minute, Fiori Paiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 37 played minutes Arapoti got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Ribeiro. In the 38th match minute, Felicina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Paulo Peres to maneuver through the defense. Fábio de Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Paulo Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wellington Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio de Azevedo having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After having played for 54 minutes, Nelsinho Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arapoti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelsinho Alvarenga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Luiz Fábio Prata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arapoti's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Fábio Prata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hamílton Palmeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hamílton Palmeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelsinho Alvarenga in the 59th minute of the match. Nelsinho Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamílton Palmeira having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelsinho Alvarenga in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hamílton Palmeira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Felicina's Hamílton Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho Alvarenga in the 74th minute of play. Hamílton Palmeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fábio Prata in the 85th minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, Luiz Fábio Prata notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Felicina's Hamílton Palmeira. Hamílton Palmeira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
