Fred Neiva charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fred Neiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When João Vítor Paraibano came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Tia New fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Vítor Paraibano couldn't finish the play. José Carlos Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisão Damião in the 23rd minute of play. When Válter Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Joaninha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válter Amorim couldn't finish the play. In the 27th minute, Alfredinho Neto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Joaninha FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Patrick Lopes struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Gildo Esteves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Joaninha FC. Alfredinho Neto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Gildo Esteves made a huge save. When João Vítor Paraibano came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Tia New fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Vítor Paraibano couldn't finish the play.

José Carlos Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisão Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 1-2 when João Vítor Paraibano sped through Joaninha FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of José Carlos Godoi. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luisão Damião in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Carlos Godoi saved Joaninha FC from getting behind. João Vítor Paraibano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Vítor Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. José Carlos Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Válter Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gildo Esteves having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisão Damião in the 71st minute of play forced Joaninha FC's goalkeeper José Carlos Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Vítor Paraibano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 75th minute Luisão Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Carlos Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 77 minutes, Luisão Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tia New's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luisão Damião was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th minute, Fred Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luisão Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Carlos Godoi having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Válter Amorim got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Válter Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gildo Esteves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Válter Amorim's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. João Vítor Paraibano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Válter Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Joaninha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válter Amorim couldn't finish the play. Gildo Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Válter Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Tia New had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
