But to his dismay, Rodolfo Couto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 17th minute, Thomás Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ezequiel de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dagoberto Ramalho during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dagoberto Ramalho hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the game, Ezequiel de Andrade recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cristóvão Varela. Ezequiel de Andrade showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. 33 minutes in the game, Rodolfo Couto fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Cristóvão Varela having to interfere. Cristóvão Varela was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and Ezequiel de Andrade capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ezequiel de Andrade really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. In the 42nd minute, Ezequiel de Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Guilherme Furtado took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdo Bittencourt. Valdo Bittencourt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

The wind increased when Ezequiel de Andrade made the kick off in the second half. When Ezequiel de Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Chapéu Atolado Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ezequiel de Andrade couldn't finish the play. When Raúl Carneiro fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chapéu Atolado Fc's protests and gave Raúl Carneiro a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Chapéu Atolado Fc fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! Pedro Prado placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Rodolfo Couto's late challenge caught a The Last Word's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodolfo Couto helped the player get up and apologised. Rodolfo Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the game, Chapéu Atolado Fc's Ezequiel de Andrade nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cristóvão Varela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. After a defensive mix-up in The Last Word's zone, Ezequiel de Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristóvão Varela came out of the goal and Ezequiel de Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Chapéu Atolado Fc's Ezequiel de Andrade in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye The Last Word's goalie prevented a goal. Rodolfo Couto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in The Last Word's zone, Rodolfo Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristóvão Varela came out of the goal and Rodolfo Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chapéu Atolado Fc's Ezequiel de Andrade got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ezequiel de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Cristóvão Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute Ezequiel de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristóvão Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristóvão Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel de Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Chapéu Atolado Fc walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
