The penalty shot was made by Emerson Meireles, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Commerciale FC's Elliot Håning. 0-1. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Commerciale FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Emerson Meireles was slow to take the kick. During this time Angicos SC's players had a chance to rest. If Antônio Carlos Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eduardo Toledo made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Percy Campidelis sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Commerciale FC's zone, Oswaldo Gonçalves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elliot Håning came out of the goal and Oswaldo Gonçalves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the game, Luís Paulo Couto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Commerciale FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Angicos SC the free kick. Luís Paulo Couto hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the game, Angicos SC's Guto Garcia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elliot Håning made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Percy Campidelis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Eduardo Toledo made a huge save. Elliot Håning showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oswaldo Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oswaldo Gonçalves to strike the kick off in the second half. Antônio Carlos Damião charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Elliot Håning didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Angicos SC. When the match had been going on for 88 minutes, Angicos SC's Emerson Meireles got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Elliot Håning. If Percy Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Percy Campidelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Toledo having to interfere. 98 minutes into the match, Gilson Hermes notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Angicos SC's Eduardo Toledo. Eduardo Toledo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Angicos SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Angicos SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
