Adhemar Simões's late challenge caught a Guaxupe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adhemar Simões helped the player get up and apologised. Adhemar Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Dagoberto Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vigo da Gama Regatas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dagoberto Negri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Rafinha Santos notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Guaxupe's Ricardo Penha. Ricardo Penha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 22 minutes into the match, Guaxupe's goal looked a bit too open when Faustão Fonseca came free, but Ricardo Penha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Guaxupe defense, Dagoberto Negri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Penha. The Guaxupe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Penha should have stopped the shot. Germano Fantini struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Ricardo Penha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vigo da Gama Regatas. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dagoberto Negri in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Penha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Guaxupe's Ricardo Penha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustão Fonseca in the 37th minute of play. If Rafinha Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Faustão Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ryan Duggan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo de Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After a rather tough play, Guaxupe's Enéas Souza got a free kick in the 53rd minute. When Faustão Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Vigo da Gama Regatas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faustão Fonseca couldn't finish the play. In the 57th match minute, Guaxupe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juninho Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. Fabiano Mineiro hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Faustão Fonseca dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ricardo Penha, 0-3. Dagoberto Negri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Penha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enéas Souza during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Guaxupe getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Enéas Souza hit a great ball. Faustão Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Ricardo Penha successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Germano Fantini in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Penha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ricardo Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adhemar Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Vigo da Gama Regatas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Guaxupe throughout the match.
