Grêmio PX's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vítor Capixaba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee gave Vítor Capixaba a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Vítor Capixaba hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Pedrão Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Meriti's goalkeeper Raúl Prestes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luisão Mendonça. Vitinho Aparecido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Guilherme de Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maurinho Tasso hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Vitinho Aparecido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme de Mendonça in the 77th minute of play. Pedrão Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luciano de Amorim charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luciano de Amorim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luciano de Amorim hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Luiz Guilherme de Mendonça took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vitinho Aparecido. Vitinho Aparecido dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 88 minutes into the match, Grêmio PX's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Guilherme de Mendonça came free, but Vitinho Aparecido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Guilherme de Mendonça in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vitinho Aparecido saved Grêmio PX from getting behind. In the 95th minute, Pedrão Loyola ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vitinho Aparecido was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Grêmio PX's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
