Itabuna's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jânio Soares in the 21st minute of play forced Itabuna's goalkeeper Júnior Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rafael Paes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Luiz Gustavo Valle fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itabuna's protests and gave Luiz Gustavo Valle a yellow card for diving instead.
