After 24 minutes, Oséias Baptista mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Icarai and the CHELSEA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lúcio Urbano struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Aírton Ferraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Icarai. In the 64th minute, Tiago Paraense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute, Raimundo Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in CHELSEA's zone, Lúcio Urbano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aírton Ferraz came out of the goal and Lúcio Urbano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 86 minutes into the game, Chico Quintal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CHELSEA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Icarai the free kick. When Fred Machado fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CHELSEA's protests and gave Fred Machado a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th match minute, CHELSEA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Machado to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, CHELSEA's Raimundo Alagoano got a free kick in the 94th minute.
