Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Túlio Magalhães to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Paranapolis's zone, Reynaldo Pontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Falcão Barral came out of the goal and Reynaldo Pontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfredinho Urbano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Marquez having to interfere. Alfredinho Urbano did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Adalberto Marquez 57 minutes into the match. Fábio Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Benê Guimarães's late challenge caught a Margaride's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benê Guimarães helped the player get up and apologised. Benê Guimarães kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Paranapolis's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Augusto Severo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adalberto Marquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfredinho Urbano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Túlio Magalhães blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adalberto Marquez having to make a save. 93 minutes into the match, Margaride's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio Magalhães came free, but Adalberto Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
