Spectators: 6661 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 0) Igor Brasil started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd minute Waldir Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benê Gaspar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Di Calcanha's Benê Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago Paraense in the 7th minute of play. In the 12th match minute, Di Calcanha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Paulo Proença to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Waldir Nunes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benê Gaspar was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Cesinha Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Igor Brasil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Aírton Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fred Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Igor Brasil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th minute, Orlando Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tiago Paraense was the one to do the kick off. Ronaldão Bastos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aírton Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Brasil, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 58 minutes into the match, CHELSEA's Tiago Paraense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benê Gaspar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Cesinha Bittencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Di Calcanha's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesinha Bittencourt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aírton Ferraz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aírton Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Brasil in the 67th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of CHELSEA:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Di Calcanha:s goal. José Paulo Proença shot the penalty kick right outside the post. When Franklin Cardozo fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CHELSEA's protests and gave Franklin Cardozo a yellow card for diving instead. After 73 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CHELSEA! In the 76th minute there was a penalty for Di Calcanha. José Paulo Proença stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Aírton Ferraz. 1-2. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benê Gaspar showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cesinha Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Aírton Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aírton Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Brasil in the 98th minute of play. If Cesinha Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Di Calcanha lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
