Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) CHELSEA's Tiago Paraense started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. CHELSEA's Aírton Ferraz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save CHELSEA from getting a goal against them. Aírton Ferraz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Túlio Magalhães's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Aírton Ferraz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The corner went over the outstretched arms of CHELSEA's goalie and right to Edmílson Goiano. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. CHELSEA's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredinho Urbano got free with Aírton Ferraz in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st match minute, Paranapolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benê Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. Paranapolis were furious when Luisinho Godoi was red carded, 24 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Paranapolis:s Falcão Barral showed great skill when he stopped Osvaldinho Lopes:s penalty. 26 minutes into the game, CHELSEA's Osvaldinho Lopes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Falcão Barral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Túlio Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Túlio Magalhães's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aírton Ferraz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Ismael Gonçalves struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Aírton Ferraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paranapolis. A collision led to CHELSEA getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Fred Machado hit a great ball. When Túlio Magalhães came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Paranapolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Túlio Magalhães couldn't finish the play.

Túlio Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Ferraz having to interfere. In the 65th match minute, CHELSEA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Machado to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Paranapolis's Robinho de Queiroz got a free kick in the 68th minute. The long shot by Osvaldinho Lopes in the 69th minute really tested Falcão Barral's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Túlio Magalhães in the 77th minute of play forced CHELSEA's goalkeeper Aírton Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paranapolis's Edmílson Goiano got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80thth minute of the game Túlio Magalhães who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CHELSEA's Aírton Ferraz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Túlio Magalhães in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aírton Ferraz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The attack was good, but when Túlio Magalhães in the 88th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Ismael Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paranapolis were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
