The audience thought a goal was coming when Ademar Trigo got free with Sérgio Machado in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 31st minute, Ademar Trigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tabuleiro MIX's Ademar Trigo got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 38 minutes, Armando Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tabuleiro MIX's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armando Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Josué Cabral was the one to do the kick off. Ademar Trigo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sérgio Machado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Tabuleiro MIX's Arthur de Lima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Tabuleiro MIX from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Ademar Trigo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sérgio Machado was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. But to his dismay, Armando Pereira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. A collision led to Tabuleiro MIX getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Tostão Rocha hit a great ball. Arthur de Lima made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Moisés do Valle sent off a good shot on target. In the 95th minute Armando Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Tabuleiro MIX players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
