After a rather tough play, Dínamo Kiev's Walmir Branco got a free kick in the 15th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ademar Trigo got free with Wilian Zonta in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute Armando Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilian Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Dínamo Kiev's Wilian Zonta got control of the ball when Ademar Trigo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 87 minutes, Armando Pereira made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Dínamo Kiev's Wilian Zonta tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
