In the 9th minute Richard Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Trevisan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Célio Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavinho Zanette in the 16th minute of play. With a little luck, Sapeca Esportiv.Palmeiras's Rogério Trevisan got control of the ball when Joélson Cearense tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner led to Sapeca Esportiv.Palmeiras's Délio Loureiro getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Richard Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 34 minutes into the match, Borba's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Antunes came free, but Célio Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Borba's goalkeeper Célio Santos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Borba's zone, Flavinho Zanette stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Célio Santos came out of the goal and Flavinho Zanette tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Célio Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Antunes in the 44th minute of play. Célio Santos came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Sapeca Esportiv.Palmeiras's Tales Fontes. But to his dismay, Tales Fontes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 54th minute, Felipe Antunes made a precise shot to the right of Célio Santos. Borba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Sapeca Esportiv.Palmeiras's Rogério Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joélson Cearense in the 57th minute of play. Eurico Tavares hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Joélson Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Rogério Trevisan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rogério Trevisan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Freire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Flavinho Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sapeca Esportiv.Palmeiras's Felipe Antunes came free and shot a quick shot against goal 84 minutes in the game, fortunately Célio Santos had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Flavinho Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Borba's Célio Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Borba from getting a goal against them. In the 90th minute, one of Sapeca Esportiv.Palmeiras:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sapeca Esportiv.Palmeiras. Eurico Tavares's late challenge caught a Sapeca Esportiv.Palmeiras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eurico Tavares helped the player get up and apologised. Eurico Tavares hit a great freekick 99 minutes into the match. In the 100th minute of the match Cesinha Ceresso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Célio Santos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
