With a left leg José Pedro Pereira saved the snaks from getting behind. Júlio Esteves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Atlético Ártico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave the snaks the free kick. José Pedro Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo José Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in the snaks's zone, Paulo José Mello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Pedro Pereira came out of the goal and Paulo José Mello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo José Mello stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Atlético Ártico's Paulo José Mello slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of José Pedro Pereira. That made the score 0-2 after 86 minutes of play. Yuri Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Atlético Ártico walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
