In the 4th minute Percival Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Oxel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nilson Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorenzo Oxel having to interfere. Lorenzo Oxel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percival Soares in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Nilson Romero had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 12 minutes into the game, Elivélton Domingues was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. JôVentus FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LUNA F.C the free kick. A collision led to JôVentus FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Elivélton Domingues hit a great ball. After having played for 14 minutes, Laerte Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LUNA F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laerte Fernandes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. JôVentus FC's Lorenzo Oxel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugênio Marinho in the 17th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, JôVentus FC's goal looked a bit too open when Percival Soares came free, but Lorenzo Oxel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. JôVentus FC's Perivaldo Goiano got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Artur Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the JôVentus FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artur Amorim couldn't finish the play. Lorenzo Oxel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percival Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Perivaldo Goiano hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Victorino Espiridion to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Percival Soares reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lorenzo Oxel. The goal made the score 0-1. 56 minutes into the match, JôVentus FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eugênio Marinho came free, but Lorenzo Oxel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amílton Velasco hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Laerte Fernandes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lorenzo Oxel. JôVentus FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. JôVentus FC's Victorino Espiridion got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 70 played minutes LUNA F.C got a freekick which was hit by Ramón de Mendonça. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramón de Mendonça in the 73rd minute of play forced JôVentus FC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Oxel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lorenzo Oxel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percival Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 81 minutes into the match, LUNA F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Victorino Espiridion came free, but Alessandro Oliveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in LUNA F.C's zone, Perivaldo Goiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alessandro Oliveira came out of the goal and Perivaldo Goiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Artur Amorim fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 86th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. Alessandro Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victorino Espiridion, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Lorenzo Oxel was a little too slow when Percival Soares got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 0-2.
