The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vaggelis Kousouridis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvério Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. GAMP FC's Vaggelis Kousouridis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laerte Paranaense in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th match minute, GAMP FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilson Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th match minute, Baroneza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laerte Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. If Nilson Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th minute Luciano Valladares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vaggelis Kousouridis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baroneza's Silvério Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Paranaense in the 28th minute of play forced GAMP FC's goalkeeper Vaggelis Kousouridis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vaggelis Kousouridis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Paranaense, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 32 minutes into the match, GAMP FC's goal looked a bit too open when Silvério Silveira came free, but Vaggelis Kousouridis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Silvério Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vaggelis Kousouridis made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Laerte Paranaense sent off a good shot on target. When Silvério Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Baroneza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvério Silveira couldn't finish the play. Laerte Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vaggelis Kousouridis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldemar Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute, Baroneza's Silvério Silveira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vaggelis Kousouridis. Vaggelis Kousouridis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Luciano Valladares kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. But to his dismay, Laerte Paranaense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3.
