If Gilmar Mumbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of real flamengo booed when Uberlândia EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juninho Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Zé Pedro Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Percival de Castro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 67th minute, Gilmar Mumbach got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arnaldo Cruz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cláudio Soeiro's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. 75 minutes into the game, Juninho Gerber was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uberlândia EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave real flamengo the free kick. Uberlândia EC's Arnaldo Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cláudio Soeiro in the 79th minute of play. Arnaldo Cruz came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by real flamengo's Cláudio Soeiro. But to his dismay, Cláudio Soeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After having played for 93 minutes, Gilmar Mumbach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. real flamengo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilmar Mumbach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95thth minute of the game Cláudio Soeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uberlândia EC's Arnaldo Cruz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Uberlândia EC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though real flamengo had controlled the match.
