Renan Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 47 minutes, Luís Fábio Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pitombeiras EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fábio Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

In the 52nd minute Luís Fábio Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Villazan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Pedrão Trigo came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Hawaii FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrão Trigo couldn't finish the play. Ian Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Gabriel Villazan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedrão Trigo might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emílio Queirós. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedrão Trigo ran back to his position shaking his head. If Renan Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 minutes of play, Hawaii FC's Mané Barbosa made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emílio Queirós was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Hawaii FC booed when Pitombeiras EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
