After 15 played minutes, SC Gramado's Arí Melo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ruy Pinheiro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Gramado reached it. If Jonathan de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute Serafim Dracena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruy Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Denílson Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Jonathan de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hélder Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Serafim Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half SC Gramado were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Serafim Dracena to strike the kick off in the second half. Ruy Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serafim Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Pombas getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Claudinho Bittencourt hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, SC Gramado's Arí Melo tried to score from far away in the 56th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Manoel Dracena's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hélder Marques was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Pombas's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Serafim Dracena 61 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. Serafim Dracena received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ruy Pinheiro came out and tried to block the shot, but Serafim Dracena slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 65th minute. Hélder Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manoel Dracena, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Pombas's Manoel Dracena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hélder Marques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 71 played minutes SC Gramado got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Sá. Denílson Dantas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hélder Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manoel Dracena in the 80th minute of the match. The supporters of Pombas booed when SC Gramado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Augusto Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hélder Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manoel Dracena in the 87th minute of the match. In the 91st minute Pombas were awarded a corner. Sílvio Luiz Valladares went to the cornerflag to take it. Hélder Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Pombas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Gramado's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Gramado.
