Spectators: 7351 (Terracing: 5514, Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 147) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Luís Fábio Silva got the match started through his kick off. EC Salvador's Alan Oliveira was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 3rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Ian Varela charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ian Varela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 7 played minutes Pitombeiras EC got a freekick which was hit by Ian Varela. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pitombeiras EC's goalkeeper Emílio Queirós, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pitombeiras EC's Emílio Queirós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Pitombeiras EC from getting a goal against them. Emílio Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alan Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Alan Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. EC Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Alan Oliveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emílio Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Lira in the 18th minute of play forced EC Salvador's goalkeeper Caetano Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Alan Oliveira took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Emílio Queirós to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of EC Salvador booed when Pitombeiras EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alan Oliveira struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Emílio Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for EC Salvador. Adrianinho Moreira's late challenge caught a EC Salvador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adrianinho Moreira helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Pitombeiras EC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Adrianinho Moreira hit a great ball. In the 34th minute, Alan Oliveira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Emílio Queirós. The goal made the score 4-0. Emílio Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Oliveira in the 37th minute of play. Dedê Mello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Emílio Queirós made a huge save. Alan Oliveira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 44thth minute, Emílio Queirós skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 44 minutes into the game, Cacá Prado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pitombeiras EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EC Salvador the free kick. After a rather tough play, Pitombeiras EC's Cacá Prado got a free kick in the 45th minute. With his leg Emílio Queirós managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when EC Salvador's Alan Oliveira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 47th play minute Válter de Godoi came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Emílio Queirós. 5-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alan Oliveira made a kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 54 minutes into the game, when Vitinho Damião put in a rough tackle. Vitinho Damião hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Alan Oliveira struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Emílio Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for EC Salvador. If Válter de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alan Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emílio Queirós having to interfere. In the 68th minute Dedê Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emílio Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alan Oliveira's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Haroldo Arruda during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 73 played minutes Pitombeiras EC got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Arruda. Aloísio Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emílio Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válter de Godoi in the 81st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Pitombeiras EC defense, Róbson Souza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emílio Queirós. The Pitombeiras EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emílio Queirós should have stopped the shot. In the 92nd minute, Orlando de Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94thth minute of the game Alan Oliveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pitombeiras EC's Emílio Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. There was no doubt that EC Salvador were the better team. EC Salvador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
