After 33 minutes, Luís Fernando Bittencourt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carambei EC and the Quarany players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luís Fernando Bittencourt hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Cristiano Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cauan Salles in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Carambei EC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amílton Quirino was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amílton Quirino in the 52nd minute of play forced Quarany's goalkeeper Elói Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edu Neiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Quarany's Cauan Salles got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Amílton Quirino struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Elói Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carambei EC. Quarany's Elói Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edu Neiva in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cléberson Teles in the 89th minute of play forced Carambei EC's goalkeeper Cristiano Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Amílton Quirino kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Elói Alcântara. That made the score 0-2 in the 96 minute of play. The Carambei EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Carambei EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
