The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Cacá Loureiro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Faustão Vianna, passed just outside the right post. 7 minutes into the match, Real Itamuri FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cacá Loureiro came free, but Faustão Vianna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cacá Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Faustão Vianna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Real Itamuri FC's Faustão Vianna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cacá Loureiro in the 16th minute of play. Álvaro Ferraz charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Álvaro Ferraz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Real Itamuri FC's Álvaro Ferraz got a free kick in the 18th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Raúl Salgado notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Real Itamuri FC's Faustão Vianna. Faustão Vianna was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Almir Koehler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 played minutes Destroyer got a freekick which was hit by Waldir Travassos. 30 minutes into the match, Destroyer's goal looked a bit too open when Deivid Reis came free, but Almir Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deivid Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almir Koehler having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Destroyer's zone, Guilherme Botelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Almir Koehler came out of the goal and Guilherme Botelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Destroyer's Almir Koehler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deivid Reis in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Guilherme Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Itamuri FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Guilherme Botelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Almir Koehler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Destroyer's Almir Koehler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deivid Reis in the 40th minute of play. When Guilherme Botelho came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Real Itamuri FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guilherme Botelho couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd match minute, Destroyer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldir Travassos to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute of the match Real Itamuri FC got a corner. Destroyer's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dudu Loureiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Erivaldo Matos managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cacá Loureiro made a kick off. Real Itamuri FC's Faustão Vianna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Salgado in the 52nd minute of play. Almir Koehler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guilherme Botelho in the 55th minute. A collision led to Real Itamuri FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Dudu Loureiro hit a great ball. Wágner Salgado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Faustão Vianna. Real Itamuri FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Deivid Reis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Almir Koehler. That made the score 1-1 in the 60 minute of play. In the 64th minute, Real Itamuri FC's Deivid Reis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Almir Koehler. Almir Koehler yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Almir Koehler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deivid Reis in the 69th minute of the match. Almir Koehler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Diogo Figueiredo fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Destroyer's protests and gave Diogo Figueiredo a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Destroyer's Diogo Figueiredo got a free kick in the 77th minute. Dudu Loureiro shot from long distance in the 78th minute, but Almir Koehler was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. 79 minutes into the match, Real Itamuri FC's Deivid Reis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Almir Koehler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cacá Loureiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Real Itamuri FC's Álvaro Ferraz got his second yellow card of the match in the 84th minute. The referee ordered Álvaro Ferraz off the ground. Real Itamuri FC's Faustão Vianna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cacá Loureiro in the 89th minute of play. If Deivid Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Erivaldo Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Real Itamuri FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Destroyer.
