The audience thought a goal was coming when Raúl Salgado got free with Matías Ortiz in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Afonsinho de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Délio Trevisan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Almir Koehler was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Raúl Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Destroyer's supporters rose to their feet, but Raúl Salgado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matías Ortiz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Délio Trevisan in the 85th minute of play forced Destroyer's goalkeeper Almir Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matías Ortiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raúl Salgado in the 86th minute of the match. If Afonsinho de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the game, Marcel Trigo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Destroyer's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atletic Caldas Madri the free kick. After a rather tough play, Destroyer's Marcel Trigo got a free kick in the 89th minute. Destroyer's Raúl Salgado got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Matías Ortiz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cacá Loureiro went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Cacá Loureiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Matías Ortiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raúl Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Destroyer's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
