Mineirinhos Faminto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frederico Rosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Silas Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Mineirinhos Faminto's Manfredo Alvarenga got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Pedro Paulo Fonseca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frederico Rosa's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silas Dracena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
