To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute, Luckasianos's Cristóvão Fantini ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Faustão Vianna. Faustão Vianna yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 44th minute, Deivid Reis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alexandre Lara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Deivid Reis's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Deivid Reis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Álvaro Ferraz during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
