No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frederico Rosa was the one to do the kick off. Mineirinhos Faminto's Jeferson Coelho got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Moraes in the 60th minute of play forced Atletic Caldas Madri's goalkeeper Matías Ortiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 61 minutes, Frederico Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mineirinhos Faminto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frederico Rosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fabiano Cordeiro fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletic Caldas Madri's protests and gave Fabiano Cordeiro a yellow card for diving instead. After 79 played minutes Atletic Caldas Madri got a freekick which was hit by Fabiano Cordeiro. Aníbal Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matías Ortiz having to interfere.
