An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo Lara in the 11th minute of play forced Mercedes RLL's goalkeeper Christian de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reinaldo de Senna in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christian de Almeida saved Mercedes RLL from getting behind. Christian de Almeida stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Pedro Pombal's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Régis de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro Salles having to interfere. Reinaldo de Senna struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Christian de Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liverpool FC. Lauro Salles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frederico Freitas's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Duda Cardozo during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 41 played minutes Liverpool FC got a freekick which was hit by Duda Cardozo. Liverpool FC's Lauro Salles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Liverpool FC from getting a goal against them. Frederico Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Liverpool FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Lauro Salles was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 56 minutes into the match, Mercedes RLL's goal looked a bit too open when João Pedro Pombal came free, but Christian de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian de Almeida made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Reinaldo de Senna sent off a good shot on target. Mercedes RLL's defense didn't have a chance, in the 60th minute, when Reinaldo de Senna scored to the left of an out of position Christian de Almeida, making the score, 1-2. João Pedro Pombal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christian de Almeida read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
