Spectators: 7244 (Terracing: 5434, Seating: 1666, VIP seats: 144) Macacos's Vitório Cosme started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Mauro Mineiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Macacos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Old Impale FC the free kick. Mauro Mineiro hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Adilson Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agnaldo Romero charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Agnaldo Romero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 13 played minutes Macacos got a freekick which was hit by Agnaldo Romero. 20 minutes into the match, Old Impale FC's Jerônimo Quintal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adilson Ramalho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bruninho Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Marcelo Goiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Adilson Ramalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Macacos's Vitório Cosme got a free kick in the 28th minute. After having played for 34 minutes, Marcelo Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Old Impale FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelo Goiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 36 minutes of play, Old Impale FC's Jerônimo Quintal made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adilson Ramalho was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 40th match minute, Old Impale FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tarcisio Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute, Agnaldo Romero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jerônimo Quintal to make the kick off. Adilson Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerônimo Quintal in the 52nd minute of the match. Jerônimo Quintal struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Adilson Ramalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Old Impale FC. The supporters of Macacos booed when Old Impale FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerônimo Quintal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelo Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerônimo Quintal in the 62nd minute of play forced Macacos's goalkeeper Adilson Ramalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Old Impale FC's Douglas Baptista got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 74 minutes into the game, Macacos's Agnaldo Romero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benedito Ferraz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Jerônimo Quintal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Macacos's Adilson Ramalho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Macacos from getting a goal against them. Benedito Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agnaldo Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Leopoldo Guerra fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Old Impale FC's protests and gave Leopoldo Guerra a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Macacos booed when Old Impale FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute of the match Mauro Mineiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benedito Ferraz skillfully saved the ball. Gugu Vergílio kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, Macacos's goalkeeper Adilson Ramalho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelo Goiano. After 95 played minutes Macacos got a freekick which was hit by Denílson da Cunha. When the final whistle sounded Old Impale FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Macacos.
