Spectators: 7208 (Terracing: 5408, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 143) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gilson Peres took the kick off in the first half of the match. Jano Cerezo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Britto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Soviet Attack getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Edgar Alves hit a great ball. When Igor de Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Votuporanga Victory fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igor de Toledo couldn't finish the play. Adelino de Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Quadros, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Adelino de Castro made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Magno Teles sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilson Peres in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jano Cerezo saved Soviet Attack from getting behind. Magno Teles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Adelino de Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Soviet Attack's zone, Gilson Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jano Cerezo came out of the goal and Gilson Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jano Cerezo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fernando Massa went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Gilson Peres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jano Cerezo was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilson Peres in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jano Cerezo saved Soviet Attack from getting behind. 48 minutes into the game, Magno Teles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Adelino de Castro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Basílio Quadros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Massa in the 62nd minute of play forced Soviet Attack's goalkeeper Jano Cerezo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute of the match Edgar Alves sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adelino de Castro skillfully saved the ball. Gilson Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Jano Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Votuporanga Victory's Válbson Mazza dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Gilson Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilson Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jano Cerezo having to interfere. Tony Britto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Jano Cerezo made a huge save. If Gilson Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Votuporanga Victory played a much better game than Soviet Attack and deserved their victory. The Soviet Attack players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
