In the 5thth minute of the game Joaquim Botelho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vira Lata F.C.'s Zé Paulo Tinoco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Botelho in the 9th minute of play forced Vira Lata F.C.'s goalkeeper Zé Paulo Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Paulo Tinoco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Vila Rural EC's Giuseppe Furlan got a free kick in the 14th minute. Aloísio Pirani struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Wilton Sergipano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vira Lata F.C.. Wilton Sergipano made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Aloísio Pirani sent off a good shot on target. Joaquim Botelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd minute, Bernardo Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute of the match Fellipe Godoi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé Paulo Tinoco showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquim Botelho during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Joaquim Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Zé Paulo Tinoco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Vira Lata F.C.'s zone, Joaquim Botelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Paulo Tinoco came out of the goal and Joaquim Botelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zé Paulo Tinoco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elói Marinho in the 33rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Elói Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vila Rural EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Elói Marinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Paulo Tinoco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Elói Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st match minute, Vira Lata F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Noel do Valle to maneuver through the defense. Noel de Alcântara's late challenge caught a Vila Rural EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Noel de Alcântara helped the player get up and apologised. Noel de Alcântara hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Vila Rural EC's Fellipe Godoi couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 47th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vira Lata F.C..

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joaquim Botelho was the one to do the kick off. Joaquim Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Paulo Tinoco having to interfere. In the 63rd minute Luizão Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilton Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th minute, Joaquim Botelho fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Zé Paulo Tinoco, passed just outside the right post. A collision led to Vira Lata F.C. getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Noel do Valle hit a great ball. In the 71st minute Joaquim Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Paulo Tinoco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Vila Rural EC's Joaquim Botelho in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vira Lata F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Elói Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilton Sergipano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizão Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Zézinho Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Joaquim Botelho came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Vila Rural EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Botelho couldn't finish the play. Elói Marinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Zé Paulo Tinoco made a huge save. When Joaquim Botelho came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Vila Rural EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Botelho couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Vira Lata F.C.'s Zé Paulo Tinoco got control of the ball when Elói Marinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joaquim Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Zé Paulo Tinoco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vila Rural EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
